The Hungry Cookpot

Obsessively and compulsively devouring as much culture as I can find on my journeys.

The Multitude

I once read a Walt Whitman poem, from the book Leaves of Grass. It talks about someone out in the distance, in all of the multitude that you connect with. And they know you; the real you. Your family, friends, your work - they all fall away and you connect with that one person, and they see you for who you are.

…and you might not ever meet them.

But they’re there…

1UP Magazine Concept

A while ago, 1UP launched a print magazine titled 1UP Presents and managed to wheel out a few issues; which ended up being pretty special. As a designer, I felt inspired to make some custom covers that were basically an appreciation of what 1UP does on a day-to-day basis for its users. Here’s two of the issues I’d love to have seen if the magazine should continue or release another issues in the years to come:

Alot on my Plate

My life has been crazy hectic with me starting my Masters degree and continuing my other hobbies of writing blogs over at 1UP, being active on twitter and all the other random social networking activities that have took hold of my day-to-day life. Deadlines have approached in a hurry, and i’ve been so focussed to get all the work completed on time to a standard, i’m proud of.

Here is a quick prieview of what i’ve been upto the last few days. The living room has looked like a bomb has hit it. Massive rolls of printed material fill the floor, and my scapel has had its work cut-out for it.

Hello Internet!

It’s the start of January here in the United Kingdom and it begins with wind speeds of over 100 miles per hour. Coming in from Scotland, last night and coupled with bitterly cold weather (into the minus figures) has not been pleasant, especially when you’re required to commute out into it everyday for University. I’ve been walking out of the door in the mornings, turning back on myself, walking back in, and grabbing an extra three layers to wear. Tshirt, knitted top, hoodie, wool jumper, lightweight jacket and a wool coat. Grab the scarf and back outside again. This has become routine.

I look like joey out of friends when he tries on all of Chandler’s clothes. (remember it?) Whatever I do to try and make myself look presentable goes to shi** within minutes of stepping out my door. Anyway before I left this morning, I began writing this blog.

This is my first post. Welcome and Hello World, or I guess I should say internet peoples. Hi All and stay tuned. I think i’m going to keep this blog updated regularly from now on.
